Each ST5000 BaseStation has built-in control for up to two doors with up to four external readers. The processor board also supports status monitoring of up to four ancillary door closure contacts and thus saving the need and extra cost to install additional equipment for such add-on features.
The ST5000 BaseStation supports most third party reader technologies via Wiegand data interfaces for a variety of contact and contactless cards, smart cards, keypads, barcode and biometric technologies. ST5000 BaseStation works best with the Sierra Technology contactless proximity card reader series (such as PR50, PR80 and PR52K (Keypad & LCD)).
